Features of Our Department
1
Highly Specialized Pharmacotherapy, Close to Your Daily Life
As cancer treatment professionals, we provide the latest evidence-based pharmacotherapy. While possessing advanced expertise, we value warm medical care that stays close to each individual's life, eliminating the "high hurdles" often felt at large hospitals. We have created an environment where you can continue your treatment with peace of mind while maintaining your daily life in a familiar community.
2
A "Gateway" for Broad-Area Cancer Care
Leveraging our location near the junction of the Sendai-Tobu and Sanriku Expressway, we serve as a hub covering a vast coastal area from northern Miyagi to the Soma area in Fukushima Prefecture. The convenience of direct highway access allows even distant patients to receive specialized treatment smoothly while minimizing the burden of commuting.
3
Strong Network with Tohoku University Hospital
When more highly specialized new drugs or clinical trials are required, we work closely with Tohoku University Hospital to promptly offer the optimal options. We have built a two-tiered support system through strong coordination between medical institutions: "Reliable daily treatment at our familiar hospital, and accessing cutting-edge academia when necessary."
4
Team Medicine Maximizing Quality of Life (QOL)
The main focus of treatment is the patient's "life" itself. Centered around medical oncologists, our specialized pharmacists, nurses, and palliative care team work as one to thoroughly manage everything from side effects to emotional care. We strongly back the balance between treatment and daily life through close cooperation with local medical institutions.
5
To Young Doctors & Students
The appeal of medical oncology lies in the fusion of a "scientist's" perspective—utilizing the latest targeted therapies and immunotherapies—and the "humanities" aspect of being a companion in the patient's life journey. In our department, you can hone not only the advanced expertise to translate cutting-edge evidence into real-world clinical practice but also the leadership to guide multidisciplinary teams as professionals in systemic management. From diagnosis to palliative care and strategic collaboration with advanced facilities, we welcome ambitious individuals who wish to oversee the entire picture of cancer care and practice "next-generation standard treatments" with their own hands.
